Each SKU includes everything listed at the price shown. Some restaurants will add hardware (terminals, printers, payment devices), SMS volume above the included 500/month, or one-time setup fees like payroll EIN ($750). Your final monthly cost depends on how much you ship - but the platform price doesn't change.

How does Nova AI Starter compare to a Toast Starter Kit?

Both let you "land" with low-friction digital. The difference: Nova AI Starter is AI-first out of the gate - every customer-facing surface (mobile app, online ordering, loyalty, marketing) has AI built in at $99/mo. Toast charges premium add-ons for similar AI capability.

Can I start on AI Starter and upgrade to Core or Growth later?

Yes - that's the design. Land with digital. Expand to front of house when you're ready to consolidate POS, KDS, kiosk and handhelds. Move to Growth when you want the full back office and Ops AI layer. No re-implementation between tiers.

Hardware is priced separately - purchase or rental. Stripe Reader M2 ($79 purchase / $3/mo rental), Stripe S700 ($429 / $15/mo), Epson and Citizen printers, KDS mounts, and more. Talk to sales for the full hardware catalog and bulk pricing.

What's the payment processing rate?

2.5% interchange-plus on card-present and online, with a minimum monthly volume of $15K. Next-day payout is +$19/mo. Gateway fee is $29/mo. Instant payout pricing available — talk to sales.

Do you have enterprise / multi-location pricing?

Yes - custom pricing for 25+ locations. Volume discounts, white-glove onboarding, dedicated success management, and procurement-ready agreements. Talk to sales.

What's actually included in "AI" at each tier?

AI Starter includes guest-facing AI - personalization, menu recommendations, loyalty offer generation, AI marketing copy. Core adds AI-driven upsell across the in-store stack. Growth adds the full Ops AI layer - real-time alerts, labor optimization, predictive forecasting, and Voice AI ordering.

AI Principles | Responsible AI for Restaurants

Brand: NOVA
Price: 99 USD

Four principles

How Nova's AI is governed end-to-end.

Data governance

Guest data is partitioned per brand. PII is encrypted at rest and in transit. Customers control what trains shared models - opt out at any time.

Model evaluation

Every model has a test suite, a benchmark, and a regression gate. We measure before we ship. Performance and bias metrics tracked over time.

Human-in-the-loop

Voice AI escalates ambiguous orders. Vision AI alerts managers - it doesn't take action unsupervised. Manager Copilot recommends, the manager decides.

Audit & explainability

Reporting AI cites sources. Manager Copilot shows its work. Every AI decision is traceable to its underlying data. Full audit log of AI actions.

Bias testing

AI upsell, scheduling, and pricing models tested for unintended bias across guest demographics. Tested before deployment and continuously in production.

Defined boundaries

Clear scope for what each AI capability can and cannot do. Voice AI doesn't authorize refunds. Vision AI doesn't take disciplinary action. Manager Copilot can't modify financial records.

Customer data & AI

Your data powers your AI. It does not train your competitors.

Nova uses restaurant data responsibly, securely, and transparently. Every AI model is designed to improve your operations while protecting your guests, your brand, and your business.

By default

Your dedicated AI models use your data only - including your menu, guest history, prep times, labor patterns, and store operations.
Your data is never exposed to other Nova customers and is not used to train a competitor’s restaurant experience.
Aggregated and anonymized signals may improve shared benchmarks, but never include PII, guest identity, or brand-identifying data.
You stay in control - opt out of shared model contributions without losing access to your dedicated AI capabilities.

For enterprise customers

Dedicated AI deployments available for brands that require strict tenant-level isolation.
Custom AI governance terms can be included as part of MSA and procurement review.
Model evaluation, audit, and testing documentation available for enterprise security and compliance teams.
